Eclipse Technologies, Inc. has made strong penetration in the internet server market. For example, a leading search engine company has standardized on Eclipse Mariner 2 Storage Subsystem and has purchased over 24 arrays supporting more than half a Terabyte. InterNex, a leading Web services and hosting provider, has evaluated and standardized on Mariner 2 and have purchased 5 subsystems within last 3 months.
Eclipse Technologies has announced that it will add SNMP Storage Management capability to manage its arrays remotely via LAN/WAN access. For this purpose, it will provide an Intelligent System Monitor with SNMP option which includes a 10BaseT port for Ethernet connection. An SNMP agent residing in the susbsytem will monitor the status of drives,controllers, fans, power supplies and chassis temperatures.The SNMP option will allow a system administrator to remotely initializeand auto-configure the storage subsytem and change drive states.
